A four-fold series of talks will be given on Pope Pius XII’s encyclical on the Liturgy (Mediator Dei) beginning on Wednesday, 3 October. Classes will be held after the 7 am Mass and Terce on Wednesdays. The same material will be covered again after the 6:30 p.m Mass on Fridays.
This encyclical presents the philosophical and theological foundations of the Mass. This knowledge is helpful for understanding the spirit of the Traditional Latin Mass. Topics to be covered include: Active Participation, the definition of “Liturgy,” and the interaction between Faith, liturgy, and life.
