Fr. Thu Truong Leaving St. Mary’s for New Parish Assignment

As it is the general policy that assistant Priests have at least two different parish assignments in their first five years of their vocation to better prepare them to be pastors, Fr. Truong will be transferred to his new assignment at Immaculate Conception Church in Omaha, Nebraska beginning this coming August. He will be leaving on Friday, August 2nd after a 7AM Mass.

Sunday, July 28, will be his last Sunday at St. Mary’s. He will preach at all the Masses. Please sign the spiritual bouquet for him at the entrances to the church or forward via email to Claire at finance@stmaryonbroadway.org

You may view his last three homilies this Sunday and his final Masses at St. Mary’s on our YouTube channel: St. Mary’s on Broadway, FSSP – YouTube

We will have a festive Coffee An’ after the 10:30AM Sung Mass in his honor.

Thursday, August 1 will be Fr. Truong’s last Sung Mass at 6PM, with a reception in the school to follow.

We sincerely thank Fr. Truong for his holy and dedicated service at beautiful St. Mary’s and for the many times he administered the Sacraments and shared his wit and wisdom and many other gifts with us during his first three years of his Priesthood. He is a kindhearted, humble and generous Priest whose zeal for the salvation of souls, which is the supreme law of the Church (CIC, Can. 1752), inspired many people of all ages and from many different backgrounds. May God continue to bless him especially in his new assignment. May his new parishioners entrusted to his spiritual care increase in holiness and in all the virtues through his example and Priestly service to their parish and to our One, True, Church.

Please pray for Fr. Truong and for all Priests of the FSSP.

A Prayer for Priests

† O Jesus, Eternal Priest, keep Thy priests within the shelter of Thy Sacred Heart, where none may touch them.
Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Thy Sacred Body.
Keep unsullied their lips, daily purpled with Thy Precious Blood.
Keep pure and unworldly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood.
Let Thy Holy Love surround them from the world’s contagion.
Bless their labors with abundant fruit, and may the souls to whom they minister
be their joy and consolation here and their everlasting crown hereafter.

Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us: obtain for us numerous and holy priests. Amen. †
