From November 1–8, the faithful can gain a plenary indulgence, applicable only to the souls in Purgatory, by
devoutly visiting a cemetery and praying for the departed. On November 2, All Souls’ Day, a plenary indulgence may also be gained by visiting a church and reciting the Our Father and Creed. The usual conditions apply: sacramental confession, Holy Communion, prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father, and detachment from all sin. Only one plenary indulgence can be gained on a single day. To gain more than one plenary indulgence during this period, you must receive Holy Communion, visit a cemetery, and pray for the pope each time, but only one confession is required for all indulgences.
