St. Mary’s will host its first Pancake Race as part of the Shrovetide Pancake Breakfast on Quinquegesima Sunday, February 23. Such races were traditionally held in England, and one of the most well known today takes place in the little town of Olney.
Participants must be 12 and under. They must bring their own frying pan and apron. St. Mary’s will provide the pancake and the oil for the pan.
They will have to run a short course while flipping the pancake in the pan.
The race will begin at 12:30 pm in the school parking lot.
