Solo was a beautiful Basset Hound who was specially trained as a therapy dog. As such, she was truly a unique Minister of Care!
Her presence and gentle manner touched the hearts of many individuals — adults and children, alike — who are homebound, lonely, living in nursing facilities, bereaved, or terminally ill. Solo died in 2013 at the young age of five years old, but the beloved memories of her and her work continue on.
We have extended Solo’s legacy as one of God’s dear creatures by initiating a ministry service called “Solo’s Treasures”.
As part of the Solo Treasures Ministry, we donate pet food to the Olneyville Food Center to help families in need who have animals. How can you help? Your donations of pet food in any amount would be greatly appreciated. Our purpose and goal is to bring pet food to the Olneyville Food Center throughout the year for the pets of families who visit the Center. We have a decorated bin with Solo’s picture on it at the front entrance of the church near the church bulletin board for you to place your donations.
